AREA SHUT-OFF VALVE UNIT
The AREA SHUT-OFF VALVE UNITS monitor the pressure values of the medical gases: Oxygen [O2], Nitrous Oxide [N2O], Carbon Dioxide [CO2], Compressed Air [AIR] and Vacuum [VAC] in all areas of medical gas supply systems according to DIN EN ISO 7396-1
In case of an emergency or for maintenance purposes the units allow the isolation of the monitored area from the gas supply network.
The pressure values are measured by a pressure- or a vacuum transmitter and shown on the display, where the limits are freely programmable.
The 3-CMR series can monitor up to 3, the 5-CMR series up to 5 supply medias.
The sheet steel housing consists of a lower part and a top part. The lower part is used for attachment of each shut-off valves, shut-off blocks and connection terminals. Optionally, a power supply can be mounted.
The following components are connected to the shut-off block:
shut-off valve (ball valve for medical gases in oil and grease-free design), DN15 or DN22
pressure gauge Ø 40 mm, display 0..10 bar
(pressure gases) / -1 bis 0 bar (vacuum)
physical isolation system
pressure- and vacuum transmitter
pipe connection DN15, DN22
The upper housing part consists of a cover frame and a door. The prescribed ventilation is given by concealed ventilation slots in the door.
In addition to this the door is secured by a lock and has plastic windows allowing you to see the pressure gauge when the door is closed.
The pressure values are monitored and are displayed digitally in bar by an emergency signal device of the CMS / 3 CM or CMS / 5 CM series installed in the door.
There are recessed viewing windows available for the description of the type of the gas.
The Emergency Alarm Panels show the actual pressure (in “bar”) of each gas measured by the pressure transmitters using 3-digit seven-segment LED displays. Additionally, a 5 LED trend display helps clinical and technical staff to quickly identify the status of the medical gas supply by indicating normal line pressure or any significant deviation. In case of a critical deviation or in case of a fault the panel will generate an optical and auditory alarm.
All operating and alarm conditions can easily be forwarded in several ways. In order to repeat the alarm in other locations (e.g. engineers office, porters lodge, telephone room), one or several Repeater Alarm Panels can be connected to the Emergency Alarm Panel. Further the Alarm Panels provide potential free contacts for forwarding. Optionally the devices are equipped with an internal interface (RS485 or modbus) to connect them to a bus system.
In case of emergency the door can be quickly opened without a key by pushing the door lock inside. This ensures a fast access to the valves.
